Save any web article and listen to it on your iPhone, Mac, or in CarPlay. Your content stays in your private iCloud — no subscriptions, no servers, no ads.
What you get
Share a link from Safari or any browser. LinkReader fetches the full text, strips the noise, and queues it for audio.
Powered by OpenAI TTS or OpenVox on Mac — high-quality voices generated entirely on your own devices.
Articles, audio, and notes sync across your iPhone and Mac via your own private CloudKit database. We never see your data.
Browse your article list and play audio hands-free. Flag interesting moments while driving to revisit later.
Tap the flag button while listening to mark a moment. Add a written note or record a voice note — it's transcribed on-device and pinned to the exact spot in the article text.
If an article pulls in ads or duplicate text, edit it directly and regenerate the audio with one tap.
Not everything lives on the web. Paste or type any text directly into LinkReader — meeting notes, documents, scripts — and have it read back to you in the same natural voice.
Send any article to LinkReader with one tap from Safari on iPhone or Mac — no copy-pasting URLs. Enable it once in Safari settings and it's always there.
Safari Extension
The LinkReader Safari extension is included free with the app. Enable it once and send articles to your queue from anywhere on the web.
Go to Settings → Safari → Extensions, find LinkReader, and turn it on. Grant access to all websites when prompted.
Open Safari → Settings → Extensions, tick LinkReader, and allow it to read pages you visit.
On iPhone tap the Share button → LinkReader. On Mac click the LinkReader toolbar icon. The article is queued and audio generation begins.
Getting started
Install LinkReader on your iPhone or Mac. No account needed — it uses your existing Apple ID and iCloud.
Paste your OpenAI key in Settings for iPhone audio generation. On Mac, install OpenVox to generate audio locally at no per-article cost.
In Safari, tap Share → LinkReader. The article is fetched, processed, and ready to listen to — usually in under a minute.
Play on your iPhone, Mac, AirPods, or through CarPlay. Pick up exactly where you left off across devices.
Free to download. No subscription. Your content, your iCloud.
